We are open for business as usual

Kia ora
Hello from the team at The Doctors Waimauku, Huapai and Silverfern.

Please note that we are open for business as usual. Please call us to book an appointment where you will be screened and assessed to either be seen at the practice or be called by a doctor or nurse and consulted over the phone.

We wanted to touch base as we are all aware that Omicron is spreading rapidly and many within our community have been affected. If you are a close contact or have a positive result you are required to stay at home for either seven or 10 days and not leave the house. We will contact with you to let you know how long you will need to isolate for and when you may need to do another swab if you are a close contact and have not yet had a positive result.

If you have a swab and you have not received a result or heard from any health professional, please call the practice. Swab results are taking up to five days to come back due to the demand.

Going forward from 24/2/22 Rapid testing RATs will be the mainstay of testing

We wanted to reassure you that for most people will only experience mild symptoms similar to having the flu and it is very easy to manage at home with some advice and support. We will email you information of how to manage and if you have any questions or concerns or start to feel more unwell then please call the practice for advice.

In some cases, symptoms can be more serious and will need to be more closely monitored while you are at home. We will call you daily and assess whether you are ok to stay at home or if you need to go into hospital.

From all of us,
At The Doctors Waimauku, Huapai and Silver Fern
