‘Youngatira’,Te Whānau o Waipareira’s first ‘by rangatahi, for rangatahi’ vaccination day

A great thing to come out of COVID-19 is watching kaimahi develop new skillsets they may have never considered possible. Rangatahi have begun flourishing new content creation careers through their mahi promoting vaccination, and many white-collar office workers have been deployed to the frontline. 

Awesome work 'Youngatira' (pictured above) from Te Whānau o Waipareira who have become trained lay vaccinators in West Auckland. These rangatahi were the sole operators of their testing station and gave their ‘customers’ a treat with music, coffee and loads of spot prizes and vouchers to encourage participation. What better way to encourage other rangatahi to become vaccinated than coming to a day specifically designed for them.
